Many archaeological relics have been found in this area, including a bronze vase, ancient coins and various ceramics. Continue on to the western rocks where the medieval sword of Taormina was found, to observe the sponges, the ???annelita?? and other sedentary organisms which reside in the rock cavities. Pass the ???Scoglio Nave?? where the depth is around 20/25 metres, the clear waters allow one to see the sandy and luminous sea-bed. Having reached the northern side of the island, the intensely orange coloured astroides calicularis can be admired around the submerged rocks. Return to departure point by way of the flat rocks of the isthmus.
